Джули Мур — опытный преподаватель и исследователь, специалист в области корпусной лингвистики, профессиональный лексикограф и автор многих популярных учебных пособий, среди которых Common Mistakes at Proficiency (CUP, 2005), Oxford EAP Advanced (OUP, 2013), Oxford Academic Vocabulary Practice (OUP, 2017), Timesaver IELTS Vocabulary (Scholastic, 2017), Complete Key/Preliminary/First for Schools (CUP, 2019).
Джули не занимается самопиаром, а мероприятия, которые она проводит, достаточно камерные, потому что ориентированы на практическую работу и осязаемый результат.
24 августа 2019 Джули выступит тренером на воркшопе для преподавателей английского, работающих с уровнем Advanced и готовящих студентов к экзаменам CAE, CPE и IELTS.

Session 1: Why & What?
We’ll start off by looking at the reasons for including writing in ELT courses. We’ll consider:
— the differing motivations of students to improve their writing skills in English
— the aims we have as teachers when we plan writing lessons
— the importance of having a strong rationale for writing tasks
— what students actually take away from writing activities
We’ll also explore what approaches we might adopt in teaching writing. From the perspective of:
— understanding text types and genres (a top-down approach)
— focusing on micro and macro writing skills (a bottom-up approach)
Session 2: How?
In this session, we’ll take a more practical look at what types of activities we can use to help students develop their writing skills. You’ll take part in activities to:
— analyse and evaluate some published materials in terms of the issues raised in the morning session
— explore different ways of setting up and managing writing activities both inside and outside class
— consider how to integrate writing with other skills
Session 3: What next?
In the final session of the day, we’ll deal with what happens after students have completed a writing task, looking at:
— the neglected skill of editing
— different approaches to giving feedback on writing
— developing writing skills over time
